Shillong IIM gets director

Shillong, June 22: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Shillong, has got a new director in the person of Amitabha De. He took over directorship from Keya Sengupta on June 17.


De was a professor at National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai, before joining as the director of IIM Shillong.


He holds an MSc and a PhD degree from the University of Calcutta and has widespread expertise in ergonomics, human factors engineering, biomechanics, executive work and work stress, and human factors in technology management.


Prior to joining IIM Shillong, he had undertaken various research projects sponsored by the government of India and industries.


He has also taken on various consulting assignments, guiding corporate houses encompassing industries like manufacturing, petroleum, airlines and chemical industries.
