Aizawl, 6 April; Houses in Lungphunlian hamlet along Mizoram-Myanmar border were heavily damaged by massive hailstorm that hit the state last evening.
There are 78 houses in total and all of them except ten of the houses were left destructed.
According to a report given by the Disaster Management and Rehabilitation department, the hails were as big as the size of eggs, that was the reason why houses were severely damage.
However, there’s no casualty involved.
Meanwhile squall and heavy rainfall damaged eight houses in neighbouring Tualcheng village and Hnahlan village where a number of grapevines were also damaged.
It has also been reported that several houses in Lungrang village, Lunglei district were severely damaged by squall.
