We are one in blood - MNF vice president

Senapati, Apr 7: Leaders of Mizo National Front (MNF) from Mizoram and other various leaders of Kuki tribe including army officials charmed the second day of the 1st Thadou Cultural Festival ‘Hun’ at Ngahmun village in Sadar Hills today, reports our correspondent.

Tlanghmingthanga, vice-president of Mizo National Front graced the occasion as the chief guest and R Lalsawmthanga, vice-president of MNF and P David, general secretary, MNF and YT James Thadou, president, Thadou Inpi-GHQs attended the second day programme as presidium members.

Army officials from Red Shield Division including Maj Gen SS Mishra, VSM, GOC, 57 Mountain Division, Leimakhong, Brigadier Jeetender Ohri, Commander 59 Mountain Brigade, Senapati, Col Sanjay Kumar, Commandant, 25 Assam Rifles and Maj HN Singh, Post Commander, 25 AR, Kangpokpi Post also attended the grand programme.

Speaking at the occasion, Tlanghmingthanga highlighted the selfless contributions of the Thadous during the MNF movement and said that the Mizo people will sustain the traditional and cultural relationship.
‘We are brothers, we are one in blood”, asserted the MNF vice president.

He also urged the gathering to uphold the brotherly love and preserve the culture and identity of Thadou tribe. Leaders of Paite Tribe Council and Thadou Inpi also attended the programme which was marked by vibrant cultural and traditional dances by various dance troupes.
