Hockey Mizoram Triumphs at 2nd Hockey India Sub Junior Women East Zone Championship 2024

Guwahati, July 26, 2024 (Zoram News): The third day of the '2nd Hockey India Sub Junior Women East Zone Championship 2024' witnessed an impressive performance by Hockey Mizoram, securing a decisive win in the Women’s category at the Maulana Md Tayabullah Hockey Stadium in Guwahati, Assam.

The day's first match saw Hockey Jharkhand face off against Manipur Hockey, emerging victorious with a 2-1 scoreline in the Women’s category. Nileema Surin (53’) and Sushmita Guria (56’) netted the goals for Hockey Jharkhand. Despite a strong effort, Manipur Hockey's Captain Prinja Moirangthem Devi (42’) was the lone goal scorer for her team.

In the second match of the day, Hockey Mizoram dominated Assam Hockey with an astounding 17-0 victory in the Women’s category. The goalscorers for Hockey Mizoram included Lalnunfeli (3′, 48′), C Lalruatsiami (11′, 52′), Vanlalrinhlui (15′, 18′, 29′), Laldinpuii (16′, 40′, 57′), K Vanlalpeki (17′, 27′, 32′, 34′, 59′), and Manglawmsang (30′, 49′).
