Major General Suresh Kumar Bhambhu Visits Sainik School Chhingchhip

Aizawl, 27 July (Zoram News): Sainik School Chhingchhip, Mizoram, witnessed a significant visit on July 26, 2024, as Major General Suresh Kumar Bhambhu, Sena Medal, Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) & Chairman, Local Board of Administration, graced the campus. The General Officer inaugurated the newly constructed Parade Ground and received a grand Guard of Honour from the School Cadets.


The event was marked by the presence of esteemed dignitaries including Brigadier Girish Upadhya, Sena Medal**, Vishisht Seva Medal, Deputy Inspector General, Headquarters, 23 Sector Assam Rifles, Aizawl; Colonel Imliakum Keitzar, Shaurya Chakra, Commandant, 42 Assam Rifles; and Wing Commander Shahul Hameed, Principal, Sainik School Chhingchhip.

Following the inauguration, the 8th Local Board of Administration (LBA) Meeting was convened in the Principal's Office. The meeting, chaired by Major General Bhambhu, included attendees such as the Deputy Director of the Directorate of School Education, Mizoram; Sub Deputy Commissioner of Serchhip District; Parents’ Representative; and school officers. Key discussions during the meeting focused on issues including exorbitant water charges, the proposal and modification of the State scholarship scheme, installation of solar power lights, construction of a rainwater harvesting system, and Special Compensatory Allowances (SCA).

The visit concluded with a vibrant cultural programme performed by the cadets, showcasing their talents and spirit. The day ended on a high note with High Tea, allowing the staff and cadets to interact with the visiting VIPs. This visit highlights Sainik School Chhingchhip’s commitment to excellence and continuous improvement in providing quality education and facilities.
