Career Guidance and Counselling Program 'School Connect 2024' Launched by Mizoram Youth Commission

Aizawl, 12 Sept  (Zoram News):   Mizoram Youth Commission (MYC), in collaboration with Lynchpin India and Zalen Events, has launched "School Connect 2024," a career guidance and counselling program for Class 12 students. The event was inaugurated today at Chanmari YMA Hall by MYC Chairman, Pu Malsawmzuala Ralte.

In his opening remarks, Ralte emphasized the importance of the "T5" formula for success: Time management, Tenacity, Consistency, Determination, and Planning. He encouraged students to incorporate these values into their daily lives to achieve success. The 'School Connect' program will continue tomorrow.

Chairman Ralte also warned students about the dangers of social media misuse, emphasizing that it offers little benefit if not used wisely. He mentioned that the MYC is currently running effective coaching classes across various districts to help students better prepare for their future careers. Ralte further highlighted the challenges faced by young people today, including the need for stable careers to support future families, and stressed the importance of making the most of their time by focusing on their studies.

The MYC Chairman reiterated that the School Connect program aims to guide students toward successful career paths. He expressed hope that the initiative would help students achieve their goals. The launch event was chaired by ZALEN Editor Vanlalrema Vantawl, who shared insights on the program’s objectives.

School Connect 2024 is a two-day event designed to provide career guidance to students from Class 8 to Class 12. Around 2,200 students from higher secondary schools in Aizawl are expected to participate, along with representatives from Women’s Polytechnic Aizawl, Government ITI, and 15 other institutions from across the state. 

The primary goal of School Connect 2024 is to equip Class 12 students with the knowledge and resources they need as they transition from school to their future careers. Experts from across India will speak on various career-related topics, offering guidance on how to pursue different career paths.

The program will feature eight sessions each day over two days, covering topics such as Careers in the Air Force and Defence Services, New-Age Career Opportunities, Career Options After Class 12, Online Work Opportunities, and Study and Employment Pathways in India.
