Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma Embarks on US Visit

Aizawl, 2 Sept (Zoram News): Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma has commenced a week-long visit to the United States, starting on Friday. The trip includes attending a function organized by the Mizo community residing in America. Accompanying him are his wife, Liansailovi, and Officer on Special Duty, Lalremruata.

During his visit, Chief Minister Lalduhoma is scheduled to meet with officials from the US State Department in Washington DC. Additionally, he will participate in a meeting with the Chin community in Indianapolis, where the Chin diaspora from Myanmar has seen significant growth, reaching nearly 30,000 people in 2023.

The Ministry of External Affairs has officially acknowledged the trip, and officials from the Consul General of India will oversee his arrival, provide security, and accompany him throughout his schedule. The expenses for the trip will be covered by the US Mizo community that extended the invitation.

The Mizo Society of America (MSA) is a community organization that represents and serves the Mizo diaspora living in the United States. Established to foster a sense of unity and cultural preservation among Mizos abroad, the MSA organizes various events, cultural programs, and gatherings to maintain their rich cultural heritage and traditions. The society also provides support to new immigrants, helping them integrate into American society while staying connected to their roots. Through social, cultural, and religious activities, the Mizo Society of America plays a crucial role in keeping the Mizo identity alive among its members in the US.
