Mizoram CSR Cell Holds Meeting

Aizawl, 14  Sept (Zoram News): Mizoram CSR Cell, chaired by Pu TBC Lalvenchhunga, Adviser to the Chief Minister, convened a meeting yesterday at his office to discuss the progress of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in the state.

The focus was on ensuring the effective and proper utilization of CSR funds, which are increasingly available for projects in Mizoram. Special emphasis was placed on the establishment of a Trust to oversee larger CSR projects.

 

The CSR Cell outlined a detailed roadmap for activities planned in 2024, with regular review meetings to monitor progress. The group discussed the creation of a comprehensive CSR database, which is already under development. This database will track funding sources and improve transparency.

 

The meeting also covered plans to gather investible projects and concept papers for potential CSR funding. A focus on capacity building and sensitization for stakeholders was also discussed. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will collaborate on expanding CSR activities in Mizoram, with an upcoming program scheduled in Bangalore.

 

Non-profit NGOs were encouraged to ensure their registrations under Income Tax Act 1961, Sections 12A and 80G, to qualify for CSR funding. NGOs are asked to submit their details via email to cmo-csr@mizoram.gov.in.

 

The meeting was attended by Pu Vanlaldina Fanai, Commissioner & Secretary to the CM, Pu Lalmalsawma Pachuau, Secretary of Planning, and other members.
