Awareness Seminar on Caregiver Program in Japan Held in Aizawl

Aizawl, 16 Oct (Zoram News): The Labour Employment Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (LESDE) Department, in collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation International (NSDCI), organized an "Awareness Seminar on Caregiver Program in Japan" to shed light on the growing demand for caregivers in Japan and the opportunities available for Indian professionals in the field.

The seminar featured key presentations from Mr. Jin Enamoto, Manager of New Business Development in Asia Pacific, and Mr. Kazunari Honda, Senior Leader of Global Strategy at Sompo Care Inc., Japan. Both speakers outlined Sompo Care Inc.'s operations and discussed the various prospects for Indian professionals aspiring to work as caregivers in Japan, detailing the qualifications, requirements, and support systems available to help them build their careers in the sector.

Pi Angela Zothanpuii, Director of LESDE, chaired the seminar and highlighted the department’s initiatives to enhance employment opportunities abroad. She proudly shared that 16 nurses from Mizoram have already begun working in Japan, thanks to the training provided. Additionally, over 40 candidates are currently enrolled in Japanese language training at NSDCI’s center in Delhi. Pi Angela, who personally inspected the training center and its facilities, reaffirmed the quality of the program, noting that it meets all the necessary standards for preparing candidates to work in Japan.

Mr. Sunny Kumar, Manager of NSDCI, elaborated on the interview and admission processes for aspiring caregivers. He emphasized the crucial role of Japanese language proficiency and highlighted the availability of skill loans and free accommodation for candidates from the Northeast. Mr. Kumar also addressed various questions from the attendees, offering insights into the support NSDCI provides throughout the training and placement process.

The seminar attracted 50 participants, including students from B.Sc Nursing, GNM, ANM, GDA, and Geriatric Caregiver courses, all keen to explore the opportunities presented by Japan’s demand for caregivers.

This seminar reflects ongoing efforts to equip Indian professionals with the skills and resources needed to meet the global demand for healthcare workers, particularly in countries like Japan where caregivers are in high demand.
