Aizawl, 15 Oct (Zoram News)  Chief Secretary Dr. Renu Sharma on On October 11, 2024, issued an office memorandum warning of disciplinary action against government employees found absent during official working hours without authorization.

Dr. Sharma emphasized that all government employees are expected to remain present during office hours, stating, "Despite repeated notifications, some officers and staff have been found absent during working hours without permission." The memorandum serves as a reminder that unauthorized absence will not be tolerated.

The Chief Secretary instructed the General Administration Department (GAD) to ensure strict adherence to office hours and to notify employees about the consequences of being absent during work hours. "It is mandatory for all employees to be present in their offices during official working hours," she reiterated, urging strict discipline.

The heads of various government departments have been directed to monitor their staff closely and take necessary action to ensure compliance. "Department heads must ensure that their subordinates maintain discipline and remain present during office hours," Dr. Sharma added.

The office memorandum is effective immediately, and any violations will lead to disciplinary measures.
