During the meeting, Dr. Renu Sharma highlighted the critical importance of the Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) for children at the ages of 5 and 15. She urged the School Education Department to establish a plan for setting up special MBU camps in schools to make it easier for children to update their biometrics without hassle.

Commodore Dhiraj Sareen, the Deputy Director General, also emphasized the need for online enrollment of children below 5 years of age using their Birth Registration Number (BRN). He encouraged the government to implement Birth Registration-Based Aadhaar Enrolment (BRBAE), allowing newborns to receive their Aadhaar numbers immediately after birth. In alignment with this initiative, the National Health Mission (NHM), Government of Mizoram, has been designated as a Registrar under UIDAI to streamline the process.

To further ensure the success of BRBAE in the state, UIDAI recommended formulating a state policy that mandates birth registration through the Civil Registration System (CRS) Portal. This step aims to enhance Aadhaar enrolment right from birth, boosting the state's digital identity infrastructure.

The meeting covered several key topics, including reviewing Mizoram’s Aadhaar enrolment progress, examining the role of District-Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committees, and exploring further opportunities for Aadhaar usage across various sectors. Discussions also focused on the implementation of MBUs and BRBAE, highlighting the state’s commitment to strengthening its digital identity systems.

The meeting's outcomes signal a proactive approach toward ensuring seamless Aadhaar integration in Mizoram, making the process more accessible for children and aligning with national goals for a unified identification system.
