RIPANS Celebrates 24th Graduation and Lamp Lighting Ceremony

Aizawl, 16 Oct (Zoram News) : The Regional Institute of Paramedical & Nursing Sciences (RIPANS), Mizoram, marked its 24th Graduation and Lamp Lighting Ceremony today at the Baptist Centre, Aizawl. The event was graced by Mizoram’s Chief Minister, Pu Lalduhoma, who served as the Chief Guest.

In his address, Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma praised the faculty and staff of RIPANS for their steadfast commitment and tireless efforts, which have positioned the institute as a center of excellence in the region. Since its establishment in 1996, RIPANS has produced 788 nursing graduates, all of whom have secured employment, reflecting the institute’s exemplary track record. The Chief Minister emphasized the pivotal role RIPANS plays not only in Mizoram but across the Northeast, contributing significantly to the region’s healthcare workforce.

Speaking to the 39 newly graduated B.Sc Nursing students, the Chief Minister said, “You will serve as healers, advocates, educators, and leaders. Most importantly, you will provide comfort and assurance to those in need, fulfilling an essential role in society.” He also extended his congratulations to the 53 students participating in the Lamp Lighting Ceremony, who come from the eight Northeastern states and Jammu & Kashmir, and encouraged them to remain resilient as they embark on their nursing journeys.

The event also included speeches from Prof. Sanjay D. Sawant, Director of RIPANS, and Prof. Lalfamkimi, Principal of the College of Nursing. The ceremonial lamp was lit by Pi C. Rothangpuii, Principal of the Nursing School in Lunglei.

RIPANS has been offering its B.Sc Nursing program since 1996, with 788 students graduating from the institute to date. Notably, every graduate has secured placement, underscoring the program's success. In January 2023, RIPANS expanded its academic offerings by introducing an M.Sc Nursing program, currently enrolling 25 students. At present, 196 students are pursuing their B.Sc Nursing degrees at the institute.

The ceremony was a significant milestone for RIPANS as it continues to shape the future of healthcare in Mizoram and beyond.
